Cedar Ridge Project
Cedar Ridge Project

The Cedar Ridge Lodge was built in 1960 and was the first new building on the Glen Eyrie property that The Navigators constructed.  At this time the lodge is set-up with most of the rooms in a dorm style arrangement with bunk beds and common bathrooms. Over the years it has been most commonly used to house large retreats or reunions and our University Service Exchange Groups.

During the Cedar Ridge construction project, the rooms will be reconfigured into standard hotel style rooms with queen beds and private baths. The project will also include expanding the large conference meeting room on the front of the building as well as other much needed renovations.

The Cedar Ridge Project is scheduled to begin in September 2016 and go through March/April of 2017.

A tentative schedule of each of stage of the project is outlined below.

  • Sep-Oct: Demolition
  • Oct-Nov: Framing, Roofing, and Stone Masonry
  • Nov-Dec: Electrical, Plumbing, Insulation and Drywall
  • Jan-Feb: Finish Carpentry, Painting, Tile, Carpeting
  • Feb-Mar: Carpeting, Furniture and Finishing Touches
  • Mar-Apr: Finishing Touches and Clean-up (if needed)

We welcome both local and out-of-state volunteers with all levels of skills and abilities including general labor and skilled trades. There will be supervisors to ensure all levels of skills can contribute to the overall benefit of the project.
Spouses are also welcome as we have opportunities to serve outside of the project as well.
