Patrick's Story

“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:18, NIV)

“I was introduced to Glen Eyrie by a friend of mine. He told me that just simply being at The Glen provided him an opportunity to experience intimate spiritual solitude. He even said, ‘The place has an atmosphere about it, like you can feel the prayers and heart cries of so many people who have made it their intimate dwelling place.’ After hearing this, I was anxious to experience The Glen for myself. I got an opportunity to go for the first time during a college retreat in the springtime. Everywhere I walked, I felt Him near. I felt during my stay that my relationship with God was as vibrant as it has ever been, and knew this would forever be a place of rest for me...”
“I have since been back and brought my brother along with me.  Just two weeks before we came, we decided to start a nonprofit organization benefitting orphans in Haiti. At the time, the vision was small, and we just had a passion pounding in our chest to allow the forgotten children an opportunity to find their worth and identity in their Savior, Jesus Christ. During our stay, we were able to draw close to the Lord and heard clear direction concerning our efforts in Haiti. I am grateful to have met the wonderful staff at Glen Eyrie, and am excited about the congruent space of relationship we will have with them going forward.”
