Join us for an authentic, high-impact Writer’s Workshop for beginning, intermediate, and advanced writers.

The workshop’s focus will be on fiction and the spiritual journey you, as a writer, undertake to create it through seeking, knocking, and asking.

The publishing world is ever-changing. Learn how to navigate it and benefit from the cumulative experience of our three talented Christian instructors who have successfully published best-selling fiction, non-fiction, screen plays, picture books, and young adult literature. Spend focused and intentional time in the track best suited to you, have the opportunity for one-on-one consultations, and learn from a panel of editors. We have intentionally designed this retreat to provide you with time to reflect, regain perspective, and find revitalized life for your writing – so that those writing doors will open.

Nancy Rue

Inspired by Nancy Drew mysteries as a child, Nancy Rue knew by age 10 she would someday be a writer. While teaching high school English after college, she felt God calling her back to her dream of writing. For 14 years, Nancy was a teacher and a writer—often waking up at 4 AM to write before work! Today, she is a full-time writer who still loves to teach at workshops. Her 123 books include the Lily series, the FaithGirlz Bible and the Mean Girl Makeover Trilogy for kids, as well as twelve adult novels including the award winning Reluctant Prophet and Healing Waters. Angela Hunt

Christy Award-winner Angela Hunt has written more than 130 works, ranging from picture books to adult novels. Nearly five million copies of her books have sold worldwide. Now that her two children are grown up, she and her husband, a youth pastor, live in Florida with mastiffs, one of which held the distinction of being the second largest canine in America as judged by Regis and Kelly! Kathy Mackel

Kathy Mackel is the acclaimed author of Can of Worms and other novels for middle readers from Putnam, HarperCollins, and Dial. Her latest, Boost, tackles the thorny issue of steroids and girls’ sports. She was the credited screenwriter for Disney’s Can of Worms and for Hangman’s Curse, and has worked for Disney, Fox, and Showtime. Writing as Kathryn Mackel, she is the author of the YA fantasy series, The Birthright Books, and of supernatural thrillers including the Christy-finalist The Hidden. Her latest foray into Christian publishing include To Know You and Veil of Secrets, written with non-fiction bestseller Shannon Etheridge.

Policies

All reservations for overnight Glen Eyrie Spiritual Retreats, Conferences, and Marriage GetAways must be paid in full at the time of reservation. Reservations may be made via phone with a credit card or in person with cash, check or a credit card. Cancellations made a minimum of 14 calendar days prior to the start date of the program will be fully refunded less a 10% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 14 days of the start date of the program will be charged a 50% cancellation fee and have a gift certificate issued for the remaining 50%. The gift certificate is valid for 1 year and is usable for any Glen Eyrie purchase. Reservations that are rescheduled at any time prior to the start date of the program will incur a 10% change fee. No changes or cancellations will be allowed within 72 hours of the start date; any such concerns that arise within 72 hours of the start date will cause the funds to be forfeited by the guest. No-Shows will be charged the full amount of the reservation.
