History Buff Tour Package
Explore the history of Glen Eyrie at your leisure! Book an overnight stay and then take your time to read about and explore the history of our beautiful grounds and 115 year old castle. Take a self-guided tour and learn about General William Jackson Palmer, who founded the city of Colorado Springs and then discovered the most beautiful spot to build his private estate. This Civil War hero raised his 3 daughters here and was truly a man ahead of his time.
Book a room in our Castle, one of our premium lodges or standard hotel rooms and receive the following:
- Breakfast for each person for each day of your stay. It is served take-out style from our Castle Dining Room.
- A book recounting the history of the Palmer family, called Queen of Glen Eyrie.
- Your choice of espresso or tea drinks in our bookstore cafe.
- A souvenir Glen Eyrie Christmas ornament.
- A voucher for $20 worth of food or merchandise for each person in our bookstore. We have a selection of history books available for purchase.
- Access to a private web page with our tour video, “The Glen Eyrie Story.”
- A brochure and access to an audio tour, taking you through 10 stops in the Carriage House and Castle. You may do this whenever you wish, at your own pace.

Lodging and Accomodations
Check-in and Check-out Check-in begins at 4:00 pm at the Front Desk located at the Carriage House. Guests arriving after 9:00pm will check in at the Gatehouse located at the property entrance. Check-out is at 11:00am. Late checkouts may be requested 24 hours in advance of arrival.
All of our lodging rooms have the following amenities:
- Private bath with hairdryer and toiletries
- Iron and ironing board
- Coffee maker
- Telephone
- Radio/Alarm clock
- Internet
- Complimentary Wi-Fi in all guest rooms and meeting rooms. There are no televisions in the guest rooms.
Beds Castle Premier rooms have one King-sized bed. Castle Deluxe rooms have one Queen bed, Eagles Nest Lodge rooms have one King bed. Pink House rooms have at least one King bed and one pull-out Murphy bed. Big Horn Lodge, Oaks Lodge, Glen View Lodge and Cedar Ridge Lodge rooms have two Queen beds.
Bathrooms Most Castle rooms have a shower/tub. Some have a shower only. Eagles Nest Lodge rooms have a shower/tub. Pink House rooms all have a shower/tub. Big Horn Lodge, Oaks Lodge, Glen View Lodge, and Cedar Ridge Lodge rooms all have a shower/tub combo.
Breakfast Breakfast for up to two guests is included in the nightly room rate. Breakfast is served in The Castle from 7:30-9:30 am. *Breakfast is included for individual private overnight stays, and not for groups staying at Glen Eyrie for an event.
