A Retreat For Women Leaders

As a female ministry leader, you are a different breed. You face unique challenges: internal doubts and external voices telling you that don’t belong; questions about what God is calling you to do, and uncertainties about how to live that calling out practically in your everyday life and relationships. Women in leadership are experiencing pressure emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
BE is a retreat for women leaders. It is not a leadership conference, focused on the “doing” of leadership. Nor is it a women’s conference that focuses on biblical teaching, and encouragement for all women. BE is uniquely designed to provide a safe space for you as a female leader to work through your challenges and your wounds, and to come and rest without being “on” or in charge. You will BE in a nurturing environment, cared for by God.
Surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Glen Eyrie, it is our hope that this retreat will help you:

Founded by Angie Ward and thoughtfully curated by a team led by Jennifer Kirklin, BE will focus on your heart and soul, encouraging and strengthening you to care for the woman God created you to be and to live out your God-given calling with confidence and joy.
Pricing:
Standard Lodge rooms with 2 queen beds are $327+ tax for double occupancy (total room cost $654), $445 + tax for a single person in a room. Castle lodging is also available, as all meetings and meals will take place in the Castle. Register online, see links below, or call 719-265-7050.

About The Retreat Founder
Dr. Angie Ward
Angie Ward is an author, teacher, and leader with over 30 years of ministry experience in a variety of contexts. She is the author of I Am a Leader: When Women Discover the Joy of Their Calling and the general editor of When the Universe Cracks: Living as God’s People in Times of Crisis. Angie serves as Assistant Director of the Doctor of Ministry program at Denver Seminary. She loves running, basketball, humor, and movies. She and her husband are empty nesters and live in an urban retreat house in Denver.
About The Retreat Coordinator
Jennifer Kirklin
Jennifer is an ordained minister, Addictions Specialist, speaker, writer, and founder of She is Significant – a women’s group, blog, and podcast that focuses on the muddy, messy, and real issues women face. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and is currently working towards her M.A. in Human Services. Serving in various outreach ministries for over 25 years, her primary focus is partnering with women in crisis and mentoring them with Christ-centered care. She recently joined the staff of her local pregnancy care center as Director of Operations, a ministry at the center of her heart. She enjoys being outside, going for long motorcycle rides, spending time with family and the grandchildren, football, coffee, gardening, and her two dogs. Jennifer and her husband are currently relocating from northern California Sierras to their hometown in central California.
FAQ
Our property is over 700 acres and contains 8 miles of hiking trails. Depending on where you are staying, you should be prepared to do lots of walking. Our weather can be unpredictable, so pack layers. Attire for the retreat is casual, and don’t forget your Bible!
Glen Eyrie Programs require payment in full at the time of reservation. Reservations cancelled or rescheduled at least 14 days prior to the start date will be charged a 10% fee. Reservations cancelled or rescheduled within 14 days of the start date will be charged a 50% fee. Reservations cancelled within 3 days of the event date will be charged the full amount.
Our property contains 95 guest rooms in 7 different lodges, including our historic Castle. None of our rooms have TV’s, although free wi-fi is available throughout the property. Rooms contain coffee makers, but no microwaves or refrigerators. They are available for guest use in the common areas of each lodge. Please notify us of any allergies or dietary needs in advance. Our Food & Beverage team can accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and vegetarian diets with advance notice. We are not a gluten-free certified kitchen, and cross-contamination may occur.
