Being Well in Christ
May 15 @ 7:00 am - May 17 @ 12:00 pm
How do we begin to look at our wellness through a Biblical lens?
Being Well in Christ is an interactive 2-day retreat that will help you explore and learn what caring for the mind, body, and soul looks like and how to connect your spirituality (soul) with your emotional and physical well-being (mind/body).
Based on Biblical principles and personal experience, retreat host Mary Wood will teach and guide you to uncover the joy and purpose of living for the glory of God. This retreat features interactive activities appropriate for all ages and ability levels as well as practical lecture based teachings. As you learn to appreciate and uncover God’s love for you and your body, you will also explore your misconceptions about self-image, look deeper into true wellness and implement wellness disciplines and techniques to use in your everyday life.
Mary will be joined by her friend Heather NeRoy, who will lead an optional yoga session on Saturday afternoon. Heather considers herself a worship leader first and a yoga teacher second. In her Jesus + Yoga classes, she creates space for students to find what feels like worship in their unique bodies. Her greatest joy is to see sisters-in-Christ of all shapes, sizes, and fitness abilities move and breathe together in a spirit of worship. She has been teaching weekly Christian yoga classes at local churches for over 4 years and when she isn’t teaching yoga she can be found soaking up the Colorado sun on hikes or by the pool with her husband, two daughters, and Goldendoodle.
Being Well in Christ is led by Mary Wood. Mary is an AAAI/IMSA and ACE certified personal trainer, pilates and group fitness instructor and has been a professional in the wellness and physical therapy world for over 30 years. She has served with Navigators for 24 years equipping people to fully live for God through scripture engagement, encouragement, and living out the words of Jesus.
“The Wellness Retreat presented by Mary Wood at Glen Eyrie was a very special event. It was well thought out, grounded in scripture and engaging. The scenery at Glen Eyrie is unparalleled. This retreat brought me closer to God through the topics presented, the real connection that Mary had with our group and the time that we had on the beautiful grounds to reflect and pray. I highly recommend attending any workshop presented by Mary Wood. ”

“The Wellness in Christ retreat will always stand out to me as being so encouraging and safe to be where we really are in relation to our bodies with other women AND being taught clearly how God sees and loves us just as we are — heart, soul, mind, body. There was TIME at the retreat. It was balanced and integrated as we want our lives to be. I left refreshed.”
