Young Women Writers Workshop
October 2 - October 4
As a young woman between the ages of 18 and 39, you’re a unique kind of writer. Your needs and aspirations are different from those of writers who are either of a different generation or are, well, male. You aspire to write about the issues and challenges that face your contemporaries, your world. That means finding forms and structures that are different from what has come before. If that resonates, this retreat is for you.
You are the future of publishing, be that Christian publishing or the general market. Older writers may have one book in them. You have a potential career ahead of you … and you can’t launch it alone. Yes, this retreat is for you.
Whether you’re still trying to discover what you want to express on the page or you already have publishing credits, this retreat is for you. If you’ve attended a Young Women Writers Retreat in the past, this gathering is still for you, because you’ll find both new information and inspiration AND reminders of things you may need to be refreshed on.
So, join us on the inspiring grounds of Glen Eyrie for the Young Women’s Writer’s Workshop, a weekend focused on coming together as young writers to form a foundation not only for your individual career as a Christian author but to shape a community of writers who want to intentionally weave their craft and their faith journey. Many bonds have been formed at YWW retreats, and there will be many more.
Published author, Nancy Rue, is the retreat speaker, and you will benefit from her years of experience in launching a successful writing and publishing career. This will be her last year to lead this retreat for Young Women, so don’t miss out on this opportunity!
Our theme this year is Enter The Mystery. Together we’ll look at both the practical AND the mysteriously artistic aspects of writing through:
- Writing help on both an individual and group basis
- Written feedback on a brief submission
- Creative Exploration
- Activities to aid you in connecting more deeply with God’s inspiration
“More and more people are seeing this,” says the Psalmist (40:3, The Message). “They enter the mystery, abandoning themselves to God.” Come! Enter with us!

Today, she is a full-time writer who still loves to teach at workshops around the country. Her books include the Lily series and The Real Life series for kids and young adults, and adult novels like The Reluctant Prophet trilogy. She and her husband, Jim, live in Tennessee.
