Alfonso grew up in the Dominican Republic around a family of Spanish immigrants. He fell in love with The Glen as soon he came in the door. He has always believed that Glen Eyrie will bring the best out of you and truly does inspire wonder.
Alfonso worked with food and around the family food business in the Dominican Republic. While attending high school in Santo Domingo, he met his wife July, and they have being together for over 20 years. Alfonso has traveled extensively across Europe and Latin America and has explored many different varieties of flavors. After attending The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, he worked in several Michelin Stars restaurants in New York City before coming to Glen Eyrie.
Chef Alfonso holds a Bachelor in Business from Universidad Jorge Tadeo in Bogota, Colombia, and a Masters in Business Administration from Universitat de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain. Alfonso is a passionate culinarian who loves French cuisine, butter, and cream.
