An Apologetics Event

Gather with us this October for THINK, an event intentionally created for those who want to be strengthened in their faith through an introduction to apologetics and intellectual reflection on many topics including these three engaging conversations:

  • Why Worry about Truth? with long-time Navigator, international speaker, and professor, Darrell Dooyema
  • Jesus in DC: How to Think and Live Politically with author and pastor, Ryan Whitson
  • If God Exists, How Would We Know? with Glen Eyrie’s own apologetics scholar, Dace Starkweather

The weekend will be filled with insightful workshops, keynote sessions, Q&A’s, and conversations with our three speakers around the dinner table. You will walk away having found sound reasons that are convincing and helpful as you explore the validity of Biblical truths. Join us on the soul-stirring property of Glen Eyrie, and don’t let life pass by without pausing to consider these imperative questions and discover answers to give you hope throughout the journey!

This event is ideal for:

  • Millenials and Gen Xers looking to be equipped through relevant teaching.
  • Ministry leaders preparing to engage with people on the tougher subjects of faith.

Event Speakers

Darrel Dooyema

Darrell and his wife, Annette, work with the International Student Ministry of The Navigators in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He directs a summer program in Norway, where college students from the U.S. and other countries come to explore difficult questions of faith, gain missions experience, and grow in their walk with Jesus. Darrell also teaches philosophy in the community college system of Colorado and enjoys the chance to help students think about the ultimate questions of life. He has degrees from Wheaton College (BA), Denver Seminary (MA), and Talbot School of Theology (DMin). While he loves to ski and to surf, his greatest joy (and most exciting challenge) is his three young children, Dylan (10), Jared (6), and Eva Alice (4).

Ryan Whitson

Ryan serves as campus pastor at Good News Community Church near Denver, Colorado,    and as an adjunct professor of philosophy and religious studies. He has earned degrees at Westmont College (BA), Liberty University (MDiv), and Talbot School of Theology 9DMin). Ryan is the author of Dangerous Discipleship (Parson Place Press) and Reasons to Believe (Aneko Press). He loves time with his family, sports, coffee shops, and good books.

Dace Starkweather

Dace Starkweather is the General Manager of the Glen Eyrie Conference Center in Colorado Springs. He has degrees from CU Boulder (BA) and two masters from BIOLA University in Southern California—Masters of Apologetics and Masters of Organizational Leadership and Development.  Dace has a passion for people and their heart’s exploration, teaching apologetics, Biblical archaeology, and the Old Testament. Dace enjoys exploring Colorado from the back of a horse or on foot, with camera in hand whenever possible.
