About the Retreat
Are you spiritually weary from pouring into others through writing or speaking? Is it difficult to hear God’s still small voice over the constant to-do list? Does the pressure to build your platform and increase numbers make you forget why you started creating and serving in the first place?
If so, we invite you to join us as we allow our hearts to be renewed by our Redeemer.
At Daughters First, we invite writers, speakers, podcasters, ministry leaders, and creatives to step away and invest in their personal relationship with Christ first. In order to serve others authentically, may we each embrace the most important role and title we will ever have—Daughter of the King!
This retreat welcomes exhausted and overwhelmed Christian women to refill our spiritual wells. After three days of worship, fellowship, and spiritual nourishment, we will return home equipped to share faith-filled messages from a place of vibrant rest.
This year’s theme is Redeemed Daughters. Isaiah 43:1b Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. (ESV)
How is the Daughters First Retreat Different From a Conference or a Writing Retreat?
We go to conferences to learn how to do our craft better and to meet other communicators. Daughters First is less about the what of your craft and more about tending to your own soul. You’ll still be meeting other communicators, but not in a way that feels like networking. Rather, you’ll be developing relationships that will help you tend your soul as you pour out for others.
A writing retreat has time set aside for writing. While you’re welcome to do some work while at our retreat, we hope you’ll set it aside for most of your time here and simply enjoy being with Jesus and with other women who love Him.

Retreat Speaker

paige Allen
Paige Allen is a pastor, speaker, and writer who is passionate about opening doors for others to have ah-ha moments in scripture. She is known for her sometimes hilarious yet vulnerable story-telling that disarms the audience in order for truth to settle in hearts. Paige grew up as a pastor’s kid, and although she thought she would try and stay away from vocational ministry, she’s now served on the same church staff wearing multiple hats for over seventeen years.
Currently, Paige serves as executive pastor at Church on the Rock in Lubbock, Texas where she preaches often, leads the staff, gives oversight to global missions and The New Legacy Home for Women. Paige also leads a thriving women’s ministry and co-hosts the Bloom Talks podcast, where unknown but remarkable women tell their stories of God’s faithfulness.
Paige has a Masters of Divinity degree from The King’s Seminary and she published a bible study called Road Signs in 2014 that explores the ups and downs of trusting God.
Paige has always loved traveling to the nations and seeing God at work around the globe. She founded Pursue Missions in 2007 with a simple yet daunting goal of infusing God’s heartbeat for people into the fabric of COTR and West Texas. Pursue Missions now oversees both full-time missionaries stationed around the globe and multiple short-term endeavors each year. Paige has travelled and preached in more than twenty countries and she is passionate about seeing the unreached and often forgotten hear of His love.
Paige has been married for over twenty years to Josh, a man with an amazing ability to connect with people and an entrepreneurial spirit that is inspiring. Together they have two awesome daughters, Selah who is observant and the most loyal friend and Haven, a natural born preacher who starts dance parties everywhere she goes.
