Return to the Hiding Place

A Play at the Glen Eyrie Castle

Two Dates

About the Performance

A wonderful new reimagining of Corrie Ten Boom’s biographical tale of forgiveness and reconciliation in the shadows of WWII. During the Nazi occupation, the family bravely hide Jews in their small clock shop. The consequences are dark and devastating.

The production looks not only at the story from Corrie’s viewpoint but also from a German army officer’s angle as well. How do they both regard their families, their faith, the Jewish people and the occupation of Holland?

They begin in different worlds, but eventually come face to face with each other. Moving and inspiring, and relevant for today.

The company appreciate the support and encouragement of  John & Elizabeth Sherrill. The play is based on the story told in their bestselling book, The Hiding Place, written with Corrie Ten Boom.

About Searchlight Theatre

Founded in 2011 by David Robinson and Michael Taylor—two seasoned performers with more than 50 years of combined experience—Searchlight Theatre brings compelling stories to life on stage. Based in the UK, they have delighted audiences across the globe, including regular performances in the United States.

For those who love theatre, its magic is undeniable—the charged atmosphere, the spine-tingling moments, and the way strangers unite through shared laughter or tears. Theatre has the power to stir deep emotions, spark meaningful conversations, and even transform lives. It can challenge perspectives, affirm beliefs, and celebrate our shared humanity.

Searchlight’s vision is to create theatre that tells life-changing stories—stories that make audiences laugh, cry, and reflect on what it means to be human, while also encountering the reality of God. Their work has earned critical acclaim, with at least one four-star review from each of their 12 appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

This marks their first performance at the historic Glen Eyrie Castle, and they look forward to sharing an unforgettable experience with you.
