Plan the Perfect Day…

For Adventure
Colorado is known for having over 300 days of sunshine per year–a perfect day for adventure-seekers would definitely be spent outside. Make sure to apply sunscreen and drink plenty of water! The Front Range offers opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, biking, Jeep tours, and more. We recommend exploring Pikes Peak, Cheyenne Canyon, Red Rocks Open Space, or one of the many other recreational areas in and around Colorado Springs. Even the most extreme athletes will find a challenge on the Manitou Incline! Refuel at Colorado Mountain Brewery or another local casual dining spot before heading back to the castle to shower and relax on the terrace as the sun sets.

For Families with Children
Families are sure to find ways to enjoy the Colorado sunshine, too. We highly recommend Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, where you can see a variety of animals in an extraordinary mountainside setting–and feed the 15+ giraffes! After the zoo, stop to play at one of our many beautiful playgrounds such as Panorama Park. If the weather turns, head to the Manitou Springs Penny Arcade or Rail Yard Gaming & Gastropub for some indoor fun. Grab a bite to eat with many restaurant options in Old Colorado City or Downtown Colorado Springs. Head back to the Glen Eyrie grounds for a family-friendly hike on one of our private trails, and catch breathtaking views as the sun sets. By the end of the day, we guarantee you’ll have hit your 10,000 steps and your kids will be ready for bed.

For a Romantic Getaway
Glen Eyrie is the perfect home base for your next couples’ vacation. Start your day with a sunrise walk on Glen Eyrie grounds or hiking trails, followed by a reservation at our signature tea. Enjoy a luxurious couples’ treatment at one of our local spas, and grab a light lunch before shopping at the many boutique stores in Downtown Colorado Springs and Old Colorado City. Finish your day with an indulgent dinner at Carlos’ Bistro or another Colorado Springs fine dining restaurant, then retire to your room at Glen Eyrie for the night.
